Olimpija Ljubljana was at the top of the table with 48 points entering this match, while NK Celje trailed by 13 points, making their chances of winning the title again very slim.

In the 62nd minute, it was Alex Matthias Tamm’s turn to shine. A shot from a tight angle was saved by the Celje goalkeeper, but Tamm quickly capitalized on the rebound, scoring a crucial goal to double Olimpija’s lead.

As the final whistle blew, Olimpija Ljubljana was one step closer to reclaiming the throne in the Slovenian league. Although there are still 14 games left in the season, Olimpija is playing exceptional football and is six points ahead of Maribor. They could lead by nine points, as they have a game in hand.

Both Lithuanian players from Celje played the entire match, while Justas Lasickas from Olimpija also played the full game. Alex Tamm, the goalscorer, was substituted near the end of the match.
