SK Super Nova, making its return to the Virslīga for the 2025 season, has strengthened its squad by signing three young Senegalese players. The trio joins from UAE second-division club Elite Falcons FC as the team looks abroad for fresh talent to help their push in Latvia’s top division.
The new signings are:
- Hamidou Kante, a 20-year-old left-back
- Mouhamed Dione, a 20-year-old central midfielder
- Abdoulaye Gueye, a 19-year-old winger
While details about the players are limited, it’s always exciting to see young African talent make their way into Baltic leagues, where many players have gone on to make a lasting impact. Senegal has the largest foreign player contingent in the Virslīga, with a record 12 players currently representing the league.
SK Super Nova’s first challenge will be tough, as they face Virslīga vice-champions Riga FC away from home on March 6th.
