FA Šiauliai has officially announced the signing of French defender Scotty Sadzoute. The 26-year-old spent the past few weeks on trial with the Lithuanian club, where he successfully integrated into the team and has now become a full member of FA Šiauliai.

Sadzoute primarily plays as a left-back and has spent most of his career in France, including two seasons with Lille’s reserve team. He also had two consecutive loan spells at Pau FC, where he enjoyed a breakthrough season in Ligue 2 during 2020/21. In that season, he played 35 matches and provided three assists, earning recognition. This success led to a transfer from Lille to Belgium’s top-tier side, OH Leuven.

Unfortunately, Sadzoute’s time at OH Leuven was marred by injuries and misfortune, preventing him from making any first-team appearances. He was subsequently loaned back to Ligue 2, this time to Nîmes, for a year and a half.

In total, Sadzoute has played 62 matches in the second-largest French football league, contributing four assists. As of the summer of 2024, he has been a free agent.

“I am happy to have joined the Šiauliai team,” Sadzoute expressed. “I was warmly welcomed, which made it easy for me to integrate. The last few years have not been the easiest for me personally, but I see that as part of every football player’s career. All that remains is for me to work hard to return to the highest level. I promise to give my all to this club so that we can achieve our goals together. I can’t wait to see all the fans in the stands, and even if I struggle to pronounce my name correctly at first, I’m ready to embrace the challenge!”

FA Šiauliai is set to kick off their new A Lyga season on March 2nd, when they will face Paņevežys in an away match.
