Slovak Premier League club AS Trenčín has signed 19-year-old winger Dimitri Jepihhin from Paide Linnameeskond, securing the young player’s rights with a 2.5-year contract.

Jepihhin made his mark in the Premium League last season, scoring eight goals and providing six assists in 33 matches after joining Paide from Nõmme United earlier in 2023.

Reflecting on his time at Paide, Jepihhin expressed gratitude, stating, “I am thankful for the opportunity to play for Paide Linnameeskond. Over the past two years, I experienced a supportive yet competitive atmosphere that played a crucial role in my development as a player. I extend my thanks to the entire staff, fans, and players and hope that Linnameeskond achieves all its goals for the upcoming season.” His message was shared via the Linnameeskond Facebook page.

Paide’s sports director, Gert Kams, praised Jepihhin’s talent: “Dimitri is one of the most promising young players to emerge in the Premium League in recent years. In my view, he was among the best players in our league last season and truly deserves this opportunity to advance to his first foreign club. Dima showcased professionalism and a top-notch work ethic throughout his time with us. I believe he has all the tools needed to succeed in Slovakia!”

Currently, AS Trenčín sits eighth in the Slovak Premier League, closely followed by the last-place team, which is only one point away. The club enjoyed a period of glory in the mid-2010s, notably winning both the Slovak championship and the cup in 2015 and 2016.
