FK Bangai Gargždai has announced another new signing as the club prepares for its debut in the UEFA Conference League.

The Lithuanian side has strengthened its defense with the addition of Simao Junior, a 26-year-old center-back.

Standing at 193 cm tall, Junior holds dual citizenship of Portugal and Guinea-Bissau. The majority of his career has been spent in Portugal, but he arrives in Lithuania from Georgia, where he played for the past six months. During his stint with FC Telavi, a club competing in the country’s top division, the defender made 16 appearances.

Prior to his time in Georgia, Junior spent a season in Cyprus, gaining valuable experience as a foreign player. With his international background and defensive prowess, he is expected to be a key addition to Banga’s squad as they prepare for their European challenge.

David Afonso’s side has secured its second center-back signing following the arrival of Deividas Malžinskas, who previously played for Transinvest. Last season’s starting defensive duo has moved on Justinas Januševskis joined FK Panevėžys, while Antonio Lara departed for the Qatari second division.

Meanwhile, the future of Benas Šatkus remains uncertain. Having reached the end of his contract with the club, the defender is currently a free agent, leaving questions about his next destination.
