Latvian champions FC RFS are reportedly interested in acquiring Japanese attacking midfielder Hide Vitalucci from Polish side Arka Gdynia. The 22-year-old playmaker has attracted attention following an impressive run in Poland’s First League, where he has emerged as an important figure for Arka.

Following a strong European campaign, including a historic win over Ajax in the Europa League, RFS is now focused on strengthening its squad ahead of the 2025 season. According to reports from Weszlo, the club has set its sights on Vitalucci and has already submitted an offer for the midfielder. However, Arka Gdynia is reportedly reluctant to part ways with him, rejecting the initial bid.

Vitalucci joined Arka Gdynia in the summer of 2024 from Chojniczanka Chojnice, where he played in the Polish second division. Since making the step up, he has impressed with his technical ability and playmaking vision, scoring four goals in 19 appearances during the autumn campaign.

Born in Rome, Italy, but holding Japanese citizenship, his football journey has taken him from Japan’s Nagoya Grampus U18 to Italy’s Frosinone U19, before playing in Serie C with Pergolettese. He later moved to Poland, where he has been making strides in the domestic leagues. Currently, his contract with Arka Gdynia runs until June 30, 2027, meaning any potential transfer would require a substantial fee.

RFS is reportedly determined to bring Vitalucci to Latvia, and sources indicate the club is willing to make a significant financial offer to secure his services. However, Arka Gdynia remains firm in their stance, signaling that they are not eager to sell their promising midfielder.
