On Tuesday, Estonian national team midfielder Mattias Käit scored his first goal of the season in the Romanian Super Liga, helping his team, FC Rapid București, secure a 2-1 victory against Unirea Slobozia.

The 26-year-old midfielder, who recorded his first assist of the season in the previous league game, was once again in the starting lineup. However, Rapid București had a rocky start, as Unirea Slobozia took an early lead in the 6th minute thanks to a goal from Ukrainian player Yusov.

Seventeen minutes later, it was Mattias’s moment to shine. After a corner kick was taken to the near post, he spotted an opening and leaped to execute a perfect header into the far corner of the net, leaving the goalkeeper with no chance. This goal marked Mattias’s fifth league goal for the club.

Rapid București put on more pressure as the match progressed, eager to secure points to solidify their position in the Championship group. Mattias was substituted in the 77th minute after an impressive performance.

However with Mattias out, they were looking for that winning goal. Despite their efforts, they couldn’t find the back of the net until the game’s final moments.

In a thrilling finish, Alexandru Dobre, a forward for Rapid București, scored the game-winning goal in the seventh minute of added time, securing a crucial three points for the team.
