FK Grobiņa has announced the signing of two international players, a month before the start of the 2025 Virslīga season.

The first addition is Arwin Javad, a 23-year-old Iranian forward who was born and raised in the Netherlands. Standing at 191 cm, Javad is a striker who previously played in the youth systems of NEC Nijmegen, Roda, and Almere City. He later moved to the Iranian top tier but did not make his debut there. Last summer, he joined Dutch second-division side VVV-Venlo, but once again did not feature in an official match. Javad has four appearances in the Iranian U23 league.

The second signing is 22-year-old Dutch winger Gijs Steinfelder. He has played in various Dutch club academies, with his most recent team being Go Ahead Eagles U21. In the Dutch U21 league, he has made 66 appearances and scored 10 goals.

Both players were brought to FK Grobiņa by the same agent.
