FK Auda has officially announced the return of experienced Latvian goalkeeper Roberts Ozols ahead of the 2025 Virslīga season. The 29-year-old shot-stopper re-joins the club after a season-long stint abroad and is eager to contribute once again to the team’s success.
Ozols is no stranger to FK Auda, having played for the club during the 2023 season, where he played a pivotal role in securing Virslīga bronze. The 187 cm tall goalkeeper boasts an impressive track record, having made 167 appearances in the Latvian top-flight, representing clubs such as Jūrmalas Spartaks, Rīgas Daugava, and Riga FC.
Throughout his career, Ozols has accumulated an array of accolades, including three Latvian league titles and a Latvian Cup victory. His experience extends to the international stage, where he has earned 19 caps for the Latvian national team. In 2024, Ozols took his talents abroad, playing for Uzbekistani club PFK Qizilqum, where he amassed 23 appearances in his debut foreign season.
Speaking about his return to FK Auda, Ozols expressed his enthusiasm:
“I am happy to be back with FK Auda. The club is familiar to me, so settling in was easy. Training conditions in Dubai are excellent, and everything necessary for preparation is in place. Now, it’s time to continue the hard work to be fully ready for the new season.”
