
Newly promoted side Harju Laagri has announced the signing of midfielder Imre Kartau, who returns to the club after spending two and a half years in Italy.
The 18-year-old midfielder is a product of the Harju academy and moved to Italy in September 2022, joining the Venezia organization. During his time there, he played for their U-17 team and ultimately with the Primavera (U-19) squad. Kartau who has made 16 appearances for the Estonian U-19 national team this season played in only one Primavera game for Venezia.
“I’m happy to be back at Harju. I hope to help the team as much as possible to remain in the Premium Liiga. My goals are to play as much as I can and bring a lot of joy to our amazing fans, Laagri Ultras. See you at the stadium!” Kartau told Harju’s press service.
“On one hand, we are thrilled to have another player with Harju DNA joining us. He brings a lot of energy, intelligent play, and skill to the game. On the other hand, we hope to give Imre the ‘wind in his wings’ to conquer foreign football fields once again,” said Harju CEO Kalmar Liiv.
Harju’s next game, where Imre Kartau is likely to be seen, is today as they travel to Rīga to face FK Metta.
