DFK Dainava Alytus midfielder Ode Abdullahi has signed a three-year deal with the Cypriot club Aris Limassol. The Nigerian midfielder was named in the A Lyga team of the season last year.
At just 22 years old, Abdullahi joined Dainava in 2023 and has been a crucial part of the Alytus midfield, making 69 league appearances over the past two seasons. He distinguished himself in 2024 as one of the top players in the league, earning media recognition and a spot on the A Lyga team of the season.
Last season, he played in all 36 league matches and came just 45 minutes short of becoming the A Lyga “iron man,” a title given to players who have played every possible minute. He scored two goals and provided three assists during that time.
Though he is now a free agent, he is joining one of the top teams in Cyprus, Aris Limassol, which is actively seeking new talent from the Baltic region; they recently signed RFS leader Adam Marhiev as well. However, Ode Abdullahi has been loaned out by Aris to the Belarusian top division club ML Vitebsk for the upcoming season
