Komissarov becomes the first Estonian player to sign with Šiauliai

FA Šiauliai have announced their second signing of the offseason – a former Estonian U-21 national team attacking midfielder Nikita Komissarov, who last played for the Premium Liiga side Nõmme Kalju.

At 24 years old, this will be Komissarov’s first experience playing abroad. He was with the Nõmme Kalju FC for the past three seasons after developing at the TJK Legion Academy. Last season, Nikita made 32 league appearances, scoring four goals and providing eight assists for the Kalju side.

Komissarov will become the first Estonian player to represent FA Šiauliai. Throughout his career, he has also played for FC Flora, FC Kuressaare, and JK Viljandi, amassing a total of 165 Premium Liiga appearances, where he scored 11 goals and made 23 assists.

“Hello, Šiauliai fans! I am happy to have joined the Šiauliai football club. I want to help this organization achieve its highest goals and showcase great football. Personally, I will give everything, and even more, to support this team in reaching its objectives. I look forward to meeting everyone at the stadium. Go, Šiauliai!” – said Komissarov upon joining the team.

The team is preparing for the new season and will play their next friendly match this Sunday against DFK Dainava Alytus in Marijampolė.
