Slovakian club ŠTK Samorim has announced the signing of Ramol Sillamaa from the Belgian giant KAA Gent. The ŠTK team includes Estonian manager Vladimir Vassiljev, assistant coach Nikita Brõlin, and midfielder Nikita Vassiljev.
The 20-year-old winger spent the last year and a half in Belgium, where he played within the KAA Gent system. During his time there, he made 20 appearances for the Jong KAA Gent team in the Belgian 1ste Nationale, which is the third tier of Belgian football.
Ramol began his career with the JK Tallinn Kalev organization, progressing through all their youth ranks. He made his Premium Liiga debut for them at the age of 15 in 2020. Before moving to Belgium, he had made 70 appearances for Tallinn Kalev, scoring 19 goals.
In January of last year, Ramol made his debut for the Estonian national team in a friendly match against Sweden.
“Estonian football is on the rise; they work very well with youth, and the quality of club and national team football is increasing. A shining example of this is our coaching staff, including Nikita Vassiljev. Ramol is a technically advanced, skillful player with experience in men’s football, both in Estonia and Belgium, as well as at the national team level. He will bring quality to the team and increase competition in the wing positions,” commented Csaba Horváth, the president of ŠTK, on the arrival of the new player.
ŠTK Samorim currently sits in 9th place in the Slovakian second division.
