FK Sūduva has announced the addition of two former FK Paņevezys players: full-back Markas Beneta and midfielder Nojus Lukšys.

31-year-old Markas Beneta returns for his second stint with Sūduva, having previously played there from 2021 to 2022. In the last two seasons, he was with FK Paņevezys, where he won the A Lyga title in 2023 and the Lithuanian Super Cup in 2024.

The former Lithuanian national team player made 22 A Lyga appearances last season and participated in an additional six European competition matches. During his previous time at Sūduva, he won the Super Cup in 2022 and made a total of 60 A Lyga appearances, scoring two goals and providing four assists. Beneta, who has 22 international caps, has also played professional football in Estonia for one season and in Poland.

20-year-old midfielder Nojus Lukšys is a product of the Paņevezys academy. Last season, he made 15 A Lyga appearances for FK Paņevezys, scoring one goal, although he started in only two of those games.

Nojus’s father, Povilas Lukšys, is a former Sūduva player who became the league’s top scorer in the 2010 season with 16 goals while playing for the Marijampole club.

Nojus, who joins Sūduva on loan, expressed his excitement to the Sūduva press officer: “I am happy to start the season here. Sūduva is a club with a great history. I lived in Marijampolė for several years, and this is where I began attending football training, so the emotions are really good,” said Lukšys. “My father also supported my decision. My expectations for the season are to aim for the highest possible placement and to compete seriously in the cup tournament.”
