Nõmme Kalju FC have announced the signing of 17-year old defender Fjodor Jekimov from Esiliiga team FC Tallinn on social media, signing a three-year scholarship contract with the club.
Jekimov, who has represented Estonian youth national teams and has collected valuable minutes in Esiliiga, rates Kalju’s development opportunities highly:
“I am very happy and proud to join Nõmme Kalju. I am honoured to work together with a talented team, who’s dedication and level motivates me every day. In trainings there is a supportive, yet professional atmosphere, which creates ideal opportunities for individual development, and also the team’s success. I believe, that together we can achieve our set targets and I am ready to give my best, to help the club bring them to life.”
Kalju’s head coach Nikita Andrejev emphasises the club’s belief in young talents:
“Youth is one of the parts of our DNA. To put aside his young age, Fjodor is physically very powerful and he has big potential, which we want to develop further. We trust our young players and offer them an environment, where it is possible to develop to the top of Estonia and in to Europe. It brings me joy, that such players join the club. Welcome to Kalju, Fjodor!”
Jekimov has also been listed in Nõmme Kalju’s pre-season fixture against Pärnu JK Vaprus, which starts today (24.01) at 13:00 (GMT +2).
