
FC Flora and Estonian U21’s national team striker Tony Varjund has joined Dutch club FC Utrecht on loan and will be playing for second tier Jong FC Utrecht.
At the end of the loan period, FC Utrecht have the opportunity to buy Varjund’s player rights.
“I am very glad to join FC Utrecht! The specific plan, that was set with FC Flora three years ago, has gone exactly as we had hoped. I will do everything, that my time in FC Utrecht will be successful and will go by with many beautiful moments,” Varjund told Flora’s press release.
The 17-year old started his footballing journey at Harju JK Laagri, in 2017-2021, he played for Tallinna Kalev, and has been wearing a Flora shirt for the past three seasons. Making his Premium Liiga debut at 15 years of age, Varjund played in 38 games in the top flight, where he scored nine goals (eight of which coming last season) and assisted four goals.
Last autumn, Varjund scored on his Estonian U21s debut, coming against Israel and with that, ending a 5-year win drought for the U21s national teams.
