The Lithuanian champions are strengthening their team with their first new signings from abroad – Mohamed Youla and Dino Salčinović have joined the team.

Both 23-year-old players, who hold Swedish citizenship, have been part of Žalgiris since the start of the team’s preseason preparations. For the past two years, Dino Salčinović and Mohamed Youla played together for the Swedish club Örebro Syrianska and previously represented the youth teams of another local club, BK Forward.

Midfielder Dino Salčinović, of Bosnian descent, has been based in Örebro since the start of his professional career and served as the captain of Syrianska in Sweden last season. Full-back Mohamed Youla began his professional journey with Gothenburg’s GAIS team. He then spent a season in Saudi Arabia before returning to Sweden in 2023 to play for Syrianska. Last year, he was called up to Guinea’s Olympic (U-23) national team.

Žalgiris has also been represented by Swedish midfielder Jake Larsson since last season. In addition, Vilnius has reinforced its squad with Gustas Jarusevičius, who rejoined “Žalgiris” after a one-year break.
