FC Hegelmann has announced the signing of Nikola Djoric. The Serbian center-back lastly played for the Austrian Bundesliga side Austria Klagenfurt.

The 24-year-old center defender is a product of the Rad Belgrade Academy. He made his first team debut during the 2020/2021 season and quickly became a regular starter, playing in 22 matches for FK Rad in the Serbian Super Liga, although his team was relegated that season.

After spending another season in the Serbian Prva Liga, Djoric signed as a free agent with the Austrian Bundesliga side Austria Klagenfurt in the summer of 2022. He made 14 appearances for the club during his first season. However, in the winter, he was loaned to Croatian top-tier team HNK Šibenik, where he added another 16 appearances.

Last season, Djoric returned from his loan but struggled to secure a regular spot in the lineup, making only 12 league appearances. Towards the end of the season, he was unable to be selected for the squad due to an injury.

FC Hegelmann, who finished second in the A Lyga last season, will play their first pre-season game this Saturday against the Baltic Football Academy team.
