Last Premium Liiga season’s Golden Boot and Player of the Season awards winner Alex Matthias Tamm has completed a transfer from Nõmme Kalju FC to Slovenian NK Olimpija Ljubljana.
The 23-year old is the first reinforcement for the Slovenian team in the winter transfer window. Tamm has signed a contract lasting until the end of the 2026/27 season, with the possibility to extend the contract for another year via mutual agreement. The tall striker recorded 28 goals and 5 assists in 35 league appearances last season.
Upon signing the contract with NK Olimpija Ljubljana, Tamm said:
“I am very happy to become a member of Olimpija. I feel that I have come to the right place at the right moment in my career. It has been a successful first half of the season for the team and I am here to help them achieve their targets. Olimpija is a top club, they want trophies. The club’s management presented it to me clearly, and it is right. I can’t wait to meet my new team mates and to introduce myself to the fans.”
Olimpija’s sporting director Goran Boromisa welcomed the new addition with the following words:
“I am very happy, that Alex will be with us for the future. I have watched him for quite some time. I also saw him live at the Estonian national team match against Slovakia. He is a very strong, robust striker, who has a high level of footballing intelligence. I believe that this is the right profile of player we were looking for. Welcome to the club and all the best, Alex!”
Tamm will wear the number 27 shirt and will get to know his teammates during the preparation in Spain, after a joint dinner and introductory tests, the press release states.
