FK Panevėžys has announced that they have not extended the contracts of three foreign players: goalkeeper Emil Timbur, defender Milos Vranjanin, and forward Sivert Gussias.
Emil Timbur, a 27-year-old Moldovan goalkeeper, joined Panevėžys before their Champions League debut in the summer. He was signed to upgrade the position previously held by Vytautas Černiauskas, who became the starting goalkeeper at the beginning of the season after Tomas Svedkauskas, the undisputed number one, tore his Achilles in the third game of the season and was sidelined for the rest of the year. Timbur made 10 appearances for Panevėžys across all competitions, keeping three clean sheets.
Milos Vranjanin, a 27-year-old center-back from Serbia, was with the team for only a few months. He joined in September and made five league appearances, contributing one assist.
Sivert Gussias, a 25-year-old striker from Norway, also joined Panevėžys in 2024. Last season, he played for Faroese side KL Klaksvik in the UEFA Conference League group stage. Gussias made a total of 39 appearances for Panevėžys, scoring four goals. Notably, two of those goals were scored in European competitions: one against Jagiellonia in the UEFA Champions League second qualifying round defeat and another against Israeli side Maccabi Tel Aviv in the Europa League third qualifying round loss.
