FK Kauno Žalgiris announced that they signed a long-term deal with Oyinlola Kayode. The Nigerian winger’s new contract will run until the end of the 2026 season.

The 22-year-old player came to Lithuania in 2021 when he joined Kauno Žalgiris from his home country Nigeria. In his first season with the Žaliai Balti (The Green-Whites), he made 15 appearances, assisting twice. Two years ago, he was loaned to the former A Lyga champions FK Sūduva, where he had his breakthrough season – 35 games across all competitions, scoring six goals and assisting twice.

Last season, the Nigerian winger returned to Žalgiris. It looked like he would be again used in sporadic moments – just seven appearances and one goal contribution after the 20 league games, but his second part of the season performance was superb, and it helped Žalgiris secure a comfortable third place – 14 straight starts in which he scored two goals and assisted three times.
