Estonian international Robi Saarma made his first start of the 2026/27 season on Wednesday evening as FK Pardubice comfortably advanced to the next round of the Czech MOL Cup with a 2-0 victory over third-tier side Pisek.

The 25-year-old winger, now in his second season in Czechia, had made his long-awaited return from injury just three days earlier, coming off the bench late in Pardubice’s 3-1 league defeat to Sigma Olomouc.

Given his first start of the campaign in the club’s opening Czech Cup fixture, Saarma featured throughout the first half as Pardubice took control of the tie before the interval. The top-flight side scored twice in the opening 45 minutes to put themselves firmly on course for victory.

Saarma was substituted at half-time as he continues to build up his match fitness following his over a month long injury lay-off. During his 45-minute appearance, the Estonian also received a yellow card.

Pardubice comfortably saw out the second half to secure a 2-0 win and book their place in the next round of the Czech MOL Cup.

Saarma and Pardubice will now switch their focus back to the Czech First League, where they host Artis Brno on Saturday.
