Tartu JK Tammeka defeated Flora Tallinn for the second time this Premium Liiga season, producing an impressive second-half display to claim a 3-1 victory in the rescheduled Premium Liiga Matchday 13 match. The defeat continued Flora’s difficult run of form, while Tammeka celebrated one of their biggest wins of the campaign.
Tammeka, who before this game was ten points behind the third place Flora, started brightly and enjoyed the better of the opening exchanges before Flora gradually settled into the match and began controlling possession. Despite the visitors seeing more of the ball, clear-cut chances were at a premium during a closely contested first half.
The breakthrough eventually came in the 33rd minute. Flora patiently worked the ball around the edge of the penalty area before Marten Kukkonen found Taaniel Usta, whose lay-off reached Sander Alamaa. The winger’s effort took a deflection on its way past goalkeeper Kristofer Sahtel to give the visitors a 1-0 lead.
The advantage lasted only three minutes. Tammeka responded immediately when Thomas Lisboa delivered an excellent ball into the penalty area, where Moussa Sambe, the striker on loan from Levadia, calmly finished into the bottom corner to level the score at 1-1 before half-time. It was the Senegalese striker second goal in two games since joining Tammeka.
The hosts carried that momentum into the second period and completed the turnaround just four minutes after the restart. Lisboa was again the provider, this time with a corner that found Pedro Manoel, who powered his header into the bottom corner to put Tammeka ahead.
Flora attempted to respond, introducing several substitutions, including 14-year-old Denis Zotov, who made another senior appearance, but the visitors struggled to create the sustained pressure needed to find an equaliser. Instead, Tammeka continued to look dangerous on the counterattack and with direct attacks.
The decisive moment arrived midway through the second half when Kauan Pereira won a penalty after being brought down inside the area. Karl Veelma confidently converted from the spot, sending Evert Grünvald the right way but placing his effort too powerfully into the bottom corner to extend Tammeka’s lead to 3-1.
Flora pushed forward during the closing stages but rarely looked capable of mounting a comeback, while Tammeka defended with confidence to see out the victory. Tempers flared late in the match as several yellow cards were shown, with both Sander Tovstik and Airon Kollo picking up bookings that will rule them out of Flora’s upcoming fixture against Paide Linnameeskond.
The victory completed Tammeka’s second 3-1 win over Flora this season and provided another significant boost for the Tartu club, who remain fifth with 35 points from 22 matches, just four points behind fourth-placed Paide Linnameeskond. Meanwhile, defending champions Flora continue to lose ground in the title race, now sitting 14 points behind league leaders Levadia.
