Premium Liiga leading scorer Bubacarr Tambedou has completed a move from FCI Levadia to Danish Superliga club Sønderjyske on a four-year contract.
The 24-year-old Gambian forward joined Levadia in 2024 and has scored 14 league goals this season, with three assists, as the Tallinn side opened up an eight-point lead at the top of the table. He also recorded four goal contributions in European qualifiers against Caernarfon and Göteborg.
Levadia’s sporting department said it was “pleased” to agree the transfer, calling it an important step in Tambedou’s career and a reflection of the work done at the club. “We thank Bubacarr for his contribution at Levadia and wish him every success in Denmark and in the next chapter of his career,” the club said.
Tambedou, who moved to Estonia in 2022 and previously played for Paide Linnameeskond, said he was grateful for his time at Levadia. “Thanks to this club and all of you, I managed to fulfil one of my dreams and now I have the chance to take the next step in my career,” he said, adding: “This is not goodbye forever – it’s just the beginning of a new chapter.”
Tambedou leaves the Estonian top flight with 35 goals and 10 assists in more than 70 Premium liiga appearances.
Sønderjyske, who finished sixth in the Danish top flight last season and won the Danish Cup in 2019-20, have started the new campaign with back-to-back defeats and are next in action on Friday.
