Lithuanian champions Kauno Žalgiris have completed the signing of experienced Croatian striker Gabriel Debeljuh following his departure from Romanian top-flight side Otelul Galati.
The 29-year-old arrives in Lithuania after spending the majority of his professional career in Romania, where he represented Hermannstadt, Sepsi, CFR Cluj and most recently Otelul Galati. Across spells in Liga I, Debeljuh made 159 league appearances, scoring 47 goals.
His most successful period came at CFR Cluj, where he won back-to-back Romanian league titles and lifted the Romanian Super Cup. He also gained European experience with the club, featuring in both the UEFA Europa League and UEFA Conference League group stages, scoring in each competition.
A product of Torino’s academy, Debeljuh began his senior career in Italy with Piacenza, Mantova and Este before moving to Romania, where he established himself as one of the league’s consistent attacking forwards.
