Goalkeeper Deividas Mikelionis will begin his tenth season in the A Lyga, representing FK Kauno Žalgiris after the club extended his contract for one more year.
“From the beginning, Kaunas Žalgiris has always felt like my team and family. As I embark on my tenth season with this club, I hope it will be a special one,” the 29-year-old Mikelionis stated in an interview with Žalgiris.lt.
He holds the record for the most appearances for Kauno Žalgiris, having played his 231st match in the green and white shirt in the A Lyga, along with nearly 30 additional appearances in the LFF Cup and UEFA tournament qualifiers.
In the 2024 season, Mikelionis played for Kauno Žalgiris 29 times, keeping nine clean sheets. Additionally, in 2024, he was recalled to the national Lithuanian men’s football team after a three-year absence.
