FC Hegelmann has signed its first player for the upcoming season: 18-year-old midfielder Harouna Abdoul Samad from Ivory Coast.
Harouna has been training with the team for several weeks and impressed the coaching staff, leading to his contract offer. “Harouna is a young and talented midfielder representing the Ivory Coast U-20 national team. During his two-week trial, he demonstrated the skills we were looking for, prompting us to offer him a long-term contract,” said Giedrius Klevinskas, the sports director of FC Hegelmann.
Klevinskas added, “It’s important to note that my decision was significantly influenced by my personal experience at a high-level friendly tournament in France. The tournament featured strong youth teams from footballing countries such as Italy, Ukraine, Japan, Mexico, France, and others, including the Ivory Coast U-20 team.
Despite being younger than their opponents, the Ivory Coast player showcased exceptional quality. They ultimately reached the tournament final, losing in a penalty shootout. This demonstrates Harouna’s great potential, which I hope will be fully realized in our team.”
Abdoul Samad will be wearing the number 17 jersey for FC Hegelmann, marking his first club experience in Europe. Before this, he played in the national championships of his home country.
