FK Kauno Žalgiris have completed the signing of Croatian attacking midfielder Ivan Fiolić as they continue preparations for their UEFA Champions League first qualifying round second-leg tie in Kosovo.
The 30-year-old arrives from HNK Gorica and has been handed the number 17 shirt. The club said Fiolić will travel with the squad for the meeting with Drita, but he will not be available to play in that match.
Fiolić came through the Dinamo Zagreb system and won multiple Croatian league titles, as well as two Croatian Cups, during his time with the capital club. He has also played domestically for Lokomotiva Zagreb and Osijek.
The left-footed midfielder has spent spells abroad with Genk, AEK Larnaca, Cracovia and Chinese Super League side Tianjin Jinmen Tiger. Kauno Žalgiris noted he won the Belgian title with Genk and lifted the Polish Cup and Super Cup with Cracovia.
FK Kauno Žalgiris head coach Željko Sopič previously worked with Fiolić at Dinamo Zagreb.
