Harju Laagri moved up to seventh in the Premium liiga table after beating Narva Trans, with head coach Lauri Nuuma saying the result could help his side regain momentum.

Nuuma told ERR that Harju had been competitive in recent outings but had failed to turn performances into points. He said the first half against Narva was “completely under our control“, before describing the second period as “proper ping-pong”.

Harju made a strong start to the season with 16 points from their first eight matches, but then endured a slump of one win and eight defeats across the next nine games. Friday’s victory brought three points and, Nuuma added, the target for the third round is to better their first-round return.

Narva’s head coach David Campana, in only his second match in charge, delivered a blunt assessment of his team’s display, calling their individual performance “catastrophic”. The Spaniard said Harju were allowed too much freedom in the first half and insisted his side must improve their individual actions.

Campana also said Narva need better balance on the pitch and must fight harder, particularly when defending their own goal. He added that the plan to play compactly did not work and admitted his team lacked strength, but vowed they would try again in the next match.

Harju’s win lifted them above Nõmme United, who can draw level on points with Harju with victory in their next game. Narva Trans remain bottom with 10 points, seven behind FC Kuressaare, who have played one match fewer.
