Nõmme Kalju have strengthened their squad ahead of the second half of the Premium Liiga season by signing Portuguese winger Idalecio Dias from the SC Braga system on a contract running until the end of 2029.
The 22-year-old arrives from one of Portugal’s most respected academies, having progressed through Braga’s youth ranks before representing both the club’s U23 side and reserve team. Braga are widely recognised as one of Europe’s leading player development clubs, producing numerous footballers who have gone on to feature in the Primeira Liga, Europe’s top leagues and the Portuguese national team.
Standing 188 centimetres tall, Dias is a versatile wide attacker known for his pace, explosiveness, physical presence and confidence in one-on-one situations. Although naturally most comfortable on the left wing, he is equally capable of operating on the opposite flank, offering Kalju additional flexibility in attack.
During his time with Braga’s U23 side, Dias lifted both the Liga Revelacao and the Taça Revelacao, becoming the hero of the cup final by scoring the winning goal against Estoril U23. He also gained experience with SC Braga B in Liga 3, Portugal’s third tier, regarded as an important stepping stone in the country’s professional football pathway.
“I’m very happy to join Nõmme Kalju,” Dias said after completing the move. “I’ve followed the club and was impressed by its clear sporting vision and commitment to developing young players. I feel this is the right environment for me to take the next step in my career.

Head coach Nikita Andrejev believes Dias possesses the attributes required of a modern winger and expects him to add both quality and versatility to Kalju’s attacking options.
“Idalecio is exactly the type of player we were looking for,” Andrejev explained. “He has excellent speed, strong physical attributes and isn’t afraid to take defenders on in one-versus-one situations. On top of that, he has received a high-quality football education in Braga’s system, which speaks for itself.
“He is still young, and we believe he has enormous room for development. Our job is to help him maximise his potential and provide an environment where he can take the next step in his career.”
