A 2-1 win over Faroe Islands in the semi-finals of the Women’s Baltic Cup pits Latvia against title holder Estonia in the finals.

A generally even and open game was, perhaps, characterised by the inability of either team be clinical in front of goal. Faroe Islands hit the post in the mid-first half but it was Karlīna Miksone (Czarni Sosnowiec) who put Latvia ahead in the 28th minute. Latvia continued to create chances and hit a post of their own just before the half-time whistle.

Second half saw much of the same, with each team hitting the woodwork once more. Faroe Islands equalised in the 57th minute but Latvia regained the lead in the 75th, with Miksone finding the back of the net once again following an assist from Suvitra.

These two goals bring Miksone’s international tally to 20 goals.

In a parallel match, Estonia overcame Lithuania 3-1, setting up a Latvia vs defending champions Estonia final on the 27th November at LNK Sporta Parks.
