Henri Anier came off the bench to draw Paide Linnameeskond level as they struggled 1-1 away to Nõmme Kalju in the Premium liiga 15th round, in a match defined by two very different halves.

Kalju were the better side in the first half and created the clearer openings, even despite a strong, albeit brief, start by Paide. Daniel Luts pounced on a loose touch from Roko Vukušić and drove in from the right, but his effort lacked accuracy. Later, Siim Luts blasted from the edge of the penalty area, but just wide.

Paide’s goalkeeper Ebrima Jarju was called to action a few times, most notably saving a low strike from Bogdan Vaštšuk and saving a header from Vukušić. Kalju continued to find shooting opportunities from distance too, with Nikita Ivanov’s 25-metre free kick attempt from a foul by Daniel Cabral drifting just wide.

Paide improved after the break and were eventually rewarded when Anier, subbed in for Badamosi in the 66th minute, equalised 2 minutes later from Luts’ assist. Kalju went down to 10 men at the closing breaths of the game as Croatian Roko Vukušić got sent off following a second yellow card in the 94th minute. This, however, was not enough for Paide to complete the comeback at Hiiu.

Kalju remain second after this match, tracing Levadia by 10 points. Paide are 4th, five point behind Flora, who have a game in hand.
