Estonia head coach Jürgen Henn has named a 26-man squad for the upcoming Baltic Cup, with several young players now pushing for senior international debuts, including Hertha Berlin midfielder Soufian Gouram and Flora winger Tony Varjund.

Gouram, 20, recently made his 2. Bundesliga debut for Hertha Berlin, coming on for seven minutes earlier this month. Varjund, meanwhile, continues to impress domestically at just 18 years old, registering three assists in the Premium Liiga this season while also setting up a goal in Flora’s Estonian Cup final victory last weekend.

Nõmme Kalju goalkeeper Henri Perk is another player still waiting for his first senior cap after previously being included in Estonia squads during earlier international windows.

Despite recently struggling with a muscle injury, captain Karol Mets remains in the squad. The experienced centre-back spent the past two seasons in the Bundesliga with FC St. Pauli before leaving the club this summer.

First-choice goalkeeper Karl Jakob Hein has also returned after recovering from a thumb injury following his recent move from Arsenal to Werder Bremen. The squad additionally includes Levadia right-back Frank Liivak and Vaprus striker Mark Anders Lepik, both returning to the national team picture after longer absences. Lepik last represented Estonia in 2022, while Liivak’s previous call-ups had become increasingly rare in recent years.

Several players are unavailable for the June camp. By agreement with head coach Henn, Michael Schjønning-Larsen and Matvei Igonen will sit out the international window, while Maksim Paskotši, Joonas Tamm and Marten-Chris Paalberg miss out through injury.

Estonia will begin the Baltic Cup on June 6 against the Faroe Islands at Pärnu Rannastaadion. The tournament also includes Latvia and Lithuania. Depending on results, Estonia will either host Lithuania at A. Le Coq Arena on June 9 or travel south to face Latvia away from home.

The Estonians are the defending Baltic Cup champions after defeating both the Faroe Islands and Lithuania during the 2024 edition of the tournament.
