Nõmme United midfielder Andre Frolov admitted his side struggled to cope with early pressure as they lost 2-1 away to Kuressaare in the Premium liiga.
Kuressaare made the stronger opening, and Frolov said United were unable to carry out their approach in the first half. “Kuressaare started well and I think they played with good quality,” he told ERR after the match. “We had a plan of a certain kind, but we couldn’t execute it and at times we were really under heavy pressure.”
United adjusted at the break and, according to Frolov, the second half belonged to the visitors, but the finishing did not follow. “At half-time we made corrections, the second half was ours and we needed to take our chances to get at least a point. Unfortunately we couldn’t,” he said.
Frolov felt United still created enough to change the result, adding: “On a better day we would have scored at least two goals, but unfortunately the match was decided by that first half.”
Looking beyond the defeat, the veteran midfielder said the club could be satisfied with their first lap of the season, but warned the start of the second lap has brought concerns. “The second lap has begun and the performance against Tammeka in the previous match wasn’t that good. There are some small warning signs and we have to find our rhythm again,” he said, before noting the next test comes against Flora.
