As the 11th round of TOPLYGA continues, FK TransINVEST underlined their authority in Vilnius with an emphatic 5:0 away victory over FK Riteriai.

The match brought together two starkly contrasting sides: a home team seemingly edging closer to the brink, weighed down by persistent financial turmoil and an uncertain leadership structure, and a visiting club fresh from the second division, riding a wave of momentum and sitting comfortably in the TOPLYGA’s top three ahead of kick-off.

It also marked the first-ever start for 17-year-old Lithuanian prospect Dominykas Gelombickas, who has earned praise from Clancy Osei Konadu. The latter is reportedly set to become the club’s future investor, if a deal will be finalized in the coming days or weeks.

Twenty minutes into the game, the deadlock was broken. A corner for the visitors was met by FK TransINVEST striker Stefan Milošević, who converted to give his side the lead. The goal was briefly reviewed by VAR before being confirmed a few minutes later.

Another VAR incident followed in the 27th minute. After a suspected handball in the TransINVEST box, a penalty was initially awarded to the home side, but the decision was overturned following a VAR review.

The 52nd-minute strike brought the game’s second goal. From yet another corner, TransINVEST’s number 9, Stefan Milošević, got the decisive touch once again, adding another goal for the Vilnius district side.

The third TransINVEST goal also stemmed from a set piece. Following a free kick from the left flank, centre-back Edvinas Kloniūnas rose to the occasion and found the back of the net.

Another goal followed in the 75th minute, as TransINVEST striker Tomi Adeloye netted the fourth shortly after coming off the bench.

Finally, the Vilnius district side added a fifth, with Jeudi Stevenson finding the net in the closing seconds of the match.
