Estonia international midfielder Rocco Robert Shein continued his impressive form in Norway, registering his third consecutive match with a goal contribution as Fredrikstad secured a 3-2 away win over Aalesund in Eliteserien.
The 22-year-old has been in excellent rhythm, having already contributed in his previous two matches before the international break – first with an assist in a cup quarterfinal defeat, followed by a goal in league action just three days later.
In the third round of the Norwegian league, Fredrikstad travelled to face Aalesund, with Shein once again named in the starting lineup. The first half saw both sides find the net, heading into the break level at 1-1.
Aalesund took the lead early in the second half, putting the hosts in control, but Fredrikstad responded through Shein in the 70th minute. Receiving the ball on the left flank, the Estonian advanced inside before unleashing a powerful strike into the top corner to make it 2-2.
Shein was substituted in the 85th minute, but just three minutes later, his replacement, 16-year-old Eirik Granaas, scored the winning goal to seal all three points for Fredrikstad.
With two wins from their opening three matches, Fredrikstad have made a strong start to the season and currently sit fifth in the table among 16 teams.
Their next challenge comes on Sunday, when they host Valerenga.
