Paide announce the signing of Marko Meerits

Today, Premium Liiga bronze medal winners announced the signing of former Estonian international Marko Meerits. He lastly played for FC Nõmme United, who were relegated at the end of this season to Esiliiga after finishing last in the Premium Liiga. The 32-year-old goalkeeper will sign a two-year deal with the Paide Linnameeskond.

Meerits, who has made 12 appearances for the Estonian national team, expressed his excitement in a statement to the club: “I am very happy to join Paide Linnameeskond. Paide is known for its ambitious style of play, which I appreciate. I look forward to doing my best to help the club reach new heights and create new success stories. I believe that together, we can achieve a lot!”

Sports director Gert Kams: “Marko is an experienced goalkeeper with a solid foreign career to show for it and strong experience in the domestic league, and he fits well with our style of play. He is used to playing a leadership role on the field, and Marko will definitely bring balance and professionalism to our club and team based on his experience. Meerits has previously played abroad in the Netherlands for Vittese and FC Emmen, in Finland for VPS, and back home in Estonia for Nõmme Kalju FC, JK Narva Trans, Rakvere JK Tarvas, and Tallinna FC Flora. He has 185 games under his belt in the Estonian Premium Liiga.
