After five consecutive draws, FC Hegelmann finally secured their first win of the Toplyga season, defeating FK TransINVEST 3-1 in the seventh round – taking full advantage of a numerical superiority for much of the match.

Hegelmann had opened their campaign with a defeat to Banga Gargždai before settling into a run of five straight draws. Meanwhile, newly promoted TransINVEST had impressed early, collecting three wins and 11 points from their first six matches to sit in the top three heading into the clash.

The turning point came in the 24th minute. After a foul on Vilius Armanavičius, TransINVEST forward Stefan Miloševič was shown a straight red card, leaving the visitors down to ten men. To make matters worse, midfielder Iker Bilbao was also forced off through injury shortly after.

Hegelmann began to assert their advantage and broke the deadlock deep into first-half stoppage time. Armanavičius found Abdel Kader Njoya in a promising position, and the forward made no mistake to give the hosts a 1-0 lead.

The momentum carried into the second half, and just two minutes after the restart, Hegelmann doubled their advantage. Following a corner delivered by Esmilis Kaušinis, Barry Isaac rose highest to head the ball into the net.

Hegelmann continued to control proceedings and effectively sealed the result in the 66th minute when Kaušinis himself got on the scoresheet, capping off a strong individual performance.

TransINVEST managed to pull one back in the 83rd minute through Yegor Glushach, who finished a counterattack with a shot into the far corner, but it proved to be little more than a consolation.

With this victory, Hegelmann climbed to sixth place in the standings, now just three points behind TransINVEST, who remain third – at least until the rest of the round is completed.
