Latvia’s U19 side opened their UEFA European Championship qualifying Elite Round campaign with a 3-0 defeat by hosts Czechia on Wednesday.
After a strong first half, Latvia went into the break level at 0-0, but the home side took control after the whistle and scored three times to secure the points in the opening group match.
Latvia, who have reached the elite round for a fourth consecutive cycle, continue their Group 4 campaign against Denmark on 28 March before facing Belgium on 31 March. Only the group winners will progress to the final tournament in Wales.
