Paide Linnameeskond secured their first victory of the new Premium Liiga season in dramatic fashion, as Brazilian midfielder Daniel Cabral scored deep into stoppage time to seal a 1-0 win over JK Narva Trans.

Both teams entered the match under pressure after stumbling in the opening round, and the early stages reflected that tension. Paide made several changes to their lineup compared to the first match, with Edgar Tur and Victor Hugo coming into the defensive line, while Momodou Jobarteh and Oskar Hõim started in midfield in place of Ramon Smirnov and the suspended Henrik Ojamaa. Narva Trans also rotated their squad, with Artjom Škinjov, Denis Poliakov, and Mykhailo Kozhushko entering the starting eleven.

Paide controlled much of the first half, enjoying the majority of possession and pushing the visitors deeper into their own half. However, despite the territorial advantage, clear scoring chances were limited. The closest opportunity came in the 16th minute when Henri Anier found himself with a chance from close range after a long pass forward, but his effort was bravely blocked by Eriks Santos.

Narva Trans struggled to create attacking moments of their own, yet their defensive organization kept Paide from turning their dominance into goals. By halftime the hosts had enjoyed around three quarters of possession and several attempts, but neither goalkeeper had been seriously tested as the teams went into the break with the score still 0-0.

Early in the second half Paide were forced into an unexpected change when Miller picked up an injury and could not continue. His replacement was Daniel Cabral, who came on to make his Premium Liiga debut. The match remained tense and physical, with both teams battling for control but creating very little in terms of dangerous opportunities.

Trans attempted to shake things up with attacking substitutions around the hour mark, while Paide also freshened their lineup later in the half. Despite the changes, the game remained tight and chances were rare, with long stretches passing without either side managing a shot on target.

Just when the match appeared destined to end in a stalemate, Paide finally found the breakthrough in stoppage time. Cabral won a free kick roughly 30 meters from goal and stepped up to take it himself. The Brazilian midfielder produced a stunning strike that flew into the top corner, leaving goalkeeper Pareiko with no chance and sending the home supporters into celebration.

The dramatic goal secured all three points for Paide and ended Narva Trans’ resistance after they had defended strongly for almost the entire match. For Paide it was a crucial first victory of the season, while Trans were left frustrated after coming so close to earning a point.
