Nõmme United recorded the biggest victory in the club’s Premium Liiga history, defeating Pärnu JK Vaprus 7-1 at home in the opening match of the second round. Veteran playmaker Zakaria Beglarashvili was the standout performer, scoring once and providing three assists.

The hosts took advantage of an early mistake to open the scoring in the 8th minute. Vaprus midfielder Sander Kolvart misplaced a pass, allowing United to launch a quick counterattack. Koen Oostenbrink found Henri Järvelaid on the left, who quickly set up Beglarashvili. The Georgian midfielder produced a superb strike from outside the penalty area, lifting the ball over the goalkeeper into the far corner for Nõmme United’s first league goal of the season.

For the 35-year-old attacking midfielder, it was his 147th goal in the Estonian top division and his first since November 2024, when he was playing for Narva Trans.

Nõmme United doubled their lead in the 17th minute. A long pass from Morishige found Järvelaid on the flank, and the full-back once again connected with Beglarashvili. This time the Georgian set up Ghanian Owusu Dacosta, who took one touch before calmly finishing to make it 2-0.

Both teams had chances shortly afterward. Joonas Sild attempted a long-range effort, while Vaprus came closest when a powerful shot from their full-back struck the crossbar. At the other end, Kevin Matas narrowly missed a chance to finish into an open net.

Despite struggling to create sustained attacks, Vaprus were given a lifeline after winning a penalty. Järvelaid clipped Matthias Limberg inside the box, and Henri Valja converted the spot kick to score his second goal of the season and reduce the deficit to 2–1.

The second half, however, belonged entirely to the hosts. Nõmme United continued to press forward and quickly restored their two-goal advantage. After poor defending from Vaprus allowed Dacosta to deliver a cross into the box, Henri Järvelaid finished to make it 3-1.

Just three minutes later the scoreline became even more comfortable. Following a corner, centre-back Morishige remained in the attacking area and received another precise pass from Beglarashvili. The Japanese defender controlled the ball like a forward before placing his shot into the corner to make it 4–1.

Vaprus attempted to change the flow of the match with several substitutions, but the situation only worsened. In the 70th minute, Beglarashvili delivered another brilliant through pass that split the defence and sent substitute Egert Õunapuu one-on-one with the goalkeeper. Õunapuu calmly finished for his first goal of the season, marking Beglarashvili’s fourth goal involvement of the match.

Just four minutes later Õunapuu scored again, extending the lead to 6-1.

Nõmme United completed the rout with a seventh goal from a set piece. Substitute Benjamin Chisala was left unmarked in the box and headed the ball into the net to seal a 7-1 victory.

For Nõmme United, who managed only two wins during their previous Premium Liiga campaign in 2024, the result marked not only their third victory in the club’s top-flight history, but also their largest ever win in the league.

Meanwhile, Vaprus were left with plenty to reflect on after a heavy defeat.
