FC Thun extended their remarkable winning streak to ten consecutive matches in the Swiss Super League with a hard-fought 2-1 victory over FC Luzern, strengthening their grip at the top of the table.

Estonia international Mattias Käit once again started in midfield for Thun. The home side built a two-goal cushion midway through the first half thanks to strikes from Kastriot Imeri and Elmin Rastoder. Luzern, whose squad includes Latvian international Andrejs Cigaņiks – an unused substitute in this match – pulled one goal back before halftime to keep the contest alive.

Luzern applied heavy pressure in the second half and came close to ending Thun’s impressive run, but the league leaders held firm to secure their tenth straight victory. Käit played the full 90 minutes, marking his 19th league appearance of the season, during which he has contributed one goal and one assist.

With the win, Thun maintained a commanding 14-point lead over FC St. Gallen, who themselves fought back in the second half to defeat FC Winterthur 2-1.

Cigaņiks, meanwhile, returned to the matchday squad for the first time since February 4 after recovering from injury. The Latvian defender has made 17 league appearances this season, recording one goal and one assist. Luzern currently sit seventh in the 12-team table with 33 points from 27 matches.

Thun now face a crucial top-of-the-table clash on Thursday when they host St. Gallen, while Luzern will take on BSC Young Boys on Wednesday, with Cigaņiks hoping to return to action.
