Mattias Käit and FC Thun have extended their winning streak to nine matches in the Swiss top division after a dominant 3-0 away victory over bottom-placed FC Winterthur.

The 27-year-old Estonian international midfielder returned to the starting lineup after missing one match due to a minor injury and played the full 90 minutes as Thun secured another convincing result.

Thun have emerged as one of the biggest surprises in European football this season. As newly promoted side to the Swiss Super League, they have not only adapted quickly but established themselves as clear league leaders in their first season back in the top flight. Prior to this match, they had already recorded eight consecutive wins, building an 11-point lead over their closest challengers.

The fixture was originally scheduled to take place four days earlier but was postponed on matchday due to unplayable pitch conditions at Winterthur’s home stadium.

After a goalless first half, the league leaders laid the foundation for victory early in the second half, scoring twice within four minutes. The third goal arrived in the 83rd minute through midfielder Kastriot Imeri, sealing a comprehensive 3-0 win.

Thun have now won nine consecutive league matches and remain unbeaten in 2026. Following the latest victory, their advantage over second-placed FC St. Gallen has grown to 14 points.

Käit and Thun return to action in three days’ time, hosting FC Luzern at home on Saturday.
