The Lithuanian Football Federation has announced a contract extension for Lithuania national futsal team head coach Dentinho, keeping him in charge through 2028.
The 42-year-old specialist has been leading the Lithuanian futsal national team again since April 2024. Earlier this year, he guided the team at their debut in the UEFA Futsal European Championship held in Kaunas. Under his management, Lithuania collected two points from three matches, recording draws against the Czech Republic and Armenia.
Lithuania’s next official fixtures under Dentinho will take place in April, when the FIFA Futsal World Cup qualification campaign begins. In the preliminary round tournament, Lithuania will host North Macedonia, Turkey and Bulgaria from April 9 to 12.
In addition to his national team duties, Dentinho is also head coach of defending Lithuanian futsal champions Kauno Žalgiris Futsal. Two days prior to the federation’s announcement, he led the club to victory in the Lithuanian Futsal Cup final, where Kauno Žalgiris defeated Akmenės Kraštas 2-1.
