Paide and Flora will play the final match of this year’s Taliturniir on Friday, with kick-off at 19:30 local time in Paide’s indoor hall.
Paide have used their pre-season to build momentum through a run of six friendlies. They have beaten Welco 5-1 and Nõmme Kalju 2-1, drew 1-1 with Narva Trans and tested themselves against Latvian opposition, losing 3-1 to Liepāja, drawing 2-2 with RFS and beating Metta 2-1.
Paide begin their competitive season in Pärnu against Vaprus but have one more pre-season fixture scheduled, hosting Latvia’s SK Super Nova on 28th February.
Estonian champions Flora have suffered only one defeat in their preparations, going down 1-0 away to AIK in Stockholm. Aside from that, they have beaten Virsliga newscomers Ogre United and city rivals FCI Levadia 1-0, thrashed Daugavpils 4-0 and drew 2-2 with Vaprus earlier in the winter.
Flora’s schedule intensifies in the final week of February, with two trophies on the line. First, they play new Latvian Super Cup winners Riga FC for the Livonia Cup on 24th February at the EJL indoor hall before facing cup holders Nõmme Kalju in the Estonian Super Cup four days later at Paide’s hall.
