About the club
FC Nõmme United were founded in 2000 and are based in Tallinn’s Nõmme district. The club is best known for its youth development model, with a long-term focus on improving the quality of youth football through coaching, training standards, and modern conditions.
Founded by Enn Loog, the club initially competed under the names Eesti Telefoni SK and FC Elion before adopting the name FC Nõmme United in 2006. In the early years, the club’s development was supported by former Estonia international goalkeeper Mart Poom, and after his playing career a dedicated Mart Poom Football School was established and integrated as Nõmme United’s youth system.
On the senior side, Nõmme United spent 13 seasons (2005–2017) in the II liiga (fourth tier), earning promotion in 2017 by winning their league and moving into Esiliiga B. After a mid-table finish (5th) in their debut Esiliiga B season, they secured a place in the Esiliiga in 2019. Following the 2022 season, Vladimir Vassiljev was appointed head coach and the club set a target of reaching the Premium Liiga within three seasons. That ambition was achieved immediately: Nõmme United won the 2023 Esiliiga with 90 points to earn promotion. Their Premium Liiga debut season was challenging, with coaching changes early in the campaign, and the team finished last with only 15 points, resulting in relegation back to the Esiliiga.
The 2025 season was a landmark year structurally: alongside the first team competing at Esiliiga A level, the U21 side has reached a licensed level for the first time and will play in Esiliiga B. For 2026, club’s stated objective was to push back into the top flight, which is what they achieved, setting a new record for points earned (92) and goals scored (125) in the process. The club operates 14 youth groups, involving around 304 boys and girls.
FC Nõmme United train and play home matches at the Männiku stadium in Tallinn.
