Panevėžys have agreed on a contract extension with midfielder Jerome Simon through the 2026 campaign.
The 32-year-old Frenchman, who was part of the squad that lifted last season’s LFF Cup, saw his 2025 return to form cut short by an Achilles tendon injury suffered in training. Simon had begun to challenge for a place in the starting XI before the setback ruled him out for the rest of the season, limiting him to eight Toplyga appearances.
“I’m very happy to extend my contract with the club,” Simon told club’s official media. “I had a tough year because of my injury and I worked very hard to get back on the pitch. I felt trust from the club and the coach, so I want to repay that on the field and do everything I can to help the team.”
Panevėžys open their 2026 season with the Lithuanian Super Cup against Toplyga Champions Kauno Žalgiris already on Monday, 16th February at 15:00 at the Marijampolė Football Arena.
