Panevėžys have strengthened their forward line by signing Luxembourg international Edvin Muratović on a contract running for the next two seasons.
The 28-year-old arrives with experience across Luxembourg, France, Germany and Belgium at youth level, before beginning his senior career with Virton. He later returned home to play for F91 Dudelange, Differdange 03 and Racing.
Racing then sent Muratović out on loan to Resovia, before he spent a season and a half with Odra Opole in Poland. After that spell, the striker has opted to continue his career in Lithuania.
“I had a great conversation with the coach and he explained to me how everything works at the club,” Muratović told the club’s website. “Of course, the chance to play in the Conference League again in the summer was a big motivation. My goals are to win trophies with the team and, of course, to play well and score goals.”
Muratovic has made 21 appearances for the Luxembourg National team, scoring one goal. The forward made four appearances in the last World Cup qualifying campaign.
Panevėžys’ third pre-season friendly is scheduled for Saturday, 24 January, when they face Jelgava at Beržų progymnazija stadium, with kick-off at 14:00.
