Latvian and Estonian football federations have announced that Livonian Cup final between the champions of Estonia and Latvia will be played on 24 February in Tallinn. This year’s match will see reigning Estonian champions FC Flora Tallinn face Latvian titleholders Riga FC.

The match is scheduled to kick off at 17:00 at Sportland Arena. If weather conditions do not allow the game to be played outdoors, it will be moved to the Estonian Football Association’s football hall.

FC Flora have won the Livonian Cup on three previous occasions, lifting the trophy in 2011, 2018 and 2023. Riga FC will be competing for the trophy for the first time in the club’s history.

The Livonian Cup was introduced at the end of 2002, following an initiative by the Estonian Football Association. The trophy is a restored pre-Second World War cup of unknown origin, restored by goldsmith Jaak Tammist. The concept behind the competition was to stage a match between champions from countries that historically formed part of Livonia.

The Livonian Cup has been played intermittently, with editions held in 2003, 2004, 2005, 2008, 2011 and 2018, before the competition was revived in 2023, when FC Flora defeated Valmiera FC 2-0 to win the trophy for the third time. The most recent edition, in 2024, was won by FC RFS.

The list of Livonian Cup winners includes Skonto Riga (2003, 2004, 2005), FK Ventspils (2008), Tallinna FC Flora (2011, 2018, 2023) and FC RFS (2024).

The match will be broadcast live on Soccernet TV, with ticket information to be announced at a later date.
