Tammeka sack Women’s team coach over disagreements

Tartu Tammeka parted ways with the manager of their women’s team – Kaivo Sanga. With only three games to go in the season, the loss of trust was cited as the main reason for termination.

Tammeka’s women’s team had already gone through a coaching change last year, when Sirje Kapper resigned and was replaced by Kaivo Sanga and Hannes Värsi as co-managers.

Soccernet.ee reports that Sanga did not wish to leave, but his contract was terminated by the club following ‘disagreements with the management on how to proceed with women’s and girl’s football’.

The now-former head coach elaborated on what those disagreements were:

The main problem in Estonian football is still money. I wanted to take some next steps, but the club saw that there is no chance for this in the new year, as the economic situation does not allow it.

With three games to go, Tammeka Women find themselves in the third place, three points ahead of Kalev and 12 behind Saku Sporting.
